Gianfranco Ferré: la poesia del progetto

This volume, part of the “Made in Italy” series dedicated to leading figures in Italian fashion creativity, explores the world and the design logic of Gianfranco Ferré, examining his vision of elegance and his distinctive “lifestyle”. The series aims to investigate the different ways in which each designer conceives fashion as both personal and cultural expression.

True to his own style, Ferré develops a form of fashion that is rich but never opulent, inclined towards luxury yet guided by a constant sensitivity to precious and characterful fabrics – organza, silk, linen – and to surprising volumes, often created through refined combinations of micro-draping and bold structural details. Thanks to this luminous sense of emphasis and his deep culture of luxury and design, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Maison Dior in 1989, a role he held for eight years before deciding to focus fully on the development of his own brand.
