The exhibition “Gianfranco Ferré. Moda, un racconto nei disegni”, hosted within the Taomoda fashion hub – NH Collection Taormina, pays tribute to the creativity and talent of the designer-architect. The exhibition features garments and sketches, providing a comprehensive insight into Ferré’s creative process.
concept
The exhibition reveals how drawing, for Ferré, was not only a tool for giving concrete form to an idea, but also the starting point for every clothing design. Bodies stylised in lines, quick marks on paper, bold strokes in pencil or marker, dotted here and there with colour. A way to “define” the garment, but also and above all, the woman designed to wear it.

“Markings on paper like poetry: for me, drawing is, not the least, an individual expression of expectations, aspirations and desires linked to my understanding of beauty, harmony and style, even more so than fashion. Poetry that uses fashion as a means of expressing myself, translating into images, manifesting in reality and sharing my inner world”.
