Spring/Summer

“If I were to sum up the spirit of this collection in a single sentence, I would say that nothing appears constructed and yet everything is studied – to lend lightness and a modern sense of glamour to the figure. Without renouncing magic, emotion, appeal…”

Gianfranco Ferré

2005

To make everything elastic and well defined on the body, jersey is used as the primary and absolute tool, in all its variants and weights, in every possible combination and interpretation.

To narrate a femininity that attracts through its lightness, the chromatic progression is restrained, with a decisive presence of black and, even more so, of the soft tones of cocoa powder, guarana, manioc, or slightly warmer shades of earth. Yet colour also bursts forth, evoking a precious, fairytale-like enchantment. The coral-snake jacket gleams with vivid hues mixed in Harlequin fashion. In eveningwear, the wild allure of animal prints vibrates. On chiffon, on tulle and again on jersey, the shades of feline coats combine with dazzling embroideries and alchemical encrustations that trace exotic leaves, Liberty-style flowers, lilies – veiled and therefore all the more captivating.

As if the luxuriant splendour of the Amazon rainforest, with its flora and fauna, were to merge in the imagination with the passionate, seductive atmosphere of San Salvador de Bahia. Evoked by orchids pinned to the garments that follow one another on the runway and, above all, by the intoxicating fragrance that permeates the space and enchants.

Fall/Winter

“I like to narrate femininity in its many ways of being and of presenting itself. A femininity that is refined and romantic, tempered by a certain severity. Free of contradiction, it also knows – and wishes – to be sporty, in a choice of comfort that extends as far as a conscious nonconformity. I sought and found this femininity, fascinating and special, in the poignant notes of a melody, in the pure lines of a lyric poem, in the images of a pulsating city, in horizons that seem to have no end…”

Severity is summed up by the straight, knee-length skirt finished with a small flounce and, unexpectedly, paired with an oversized blouson in heavy cover fabric, trimmed with a grand natural guanaco collar – a kind of glamorous reworking of the cloaks once worn when riding across the pampas.

The skirt’s peplum sits slightly lower on the hips, the hem reaches the calf and opens into a circular sway that follows the step – elastic yet firm, thanks to boots recalling the botas de potro of the gauchos, in ultra-light, colourless suede or in decorated, studded leather with a wedge heel. When it reaches the ground, the skirt is made of iridescent silk faille, constructed from dense pleated flounces: with movement, it seems to dance, creating an irresistible rustle, more seductive than a milonga.

Even protection from the cold becomes an assertion of opulence. In coats and capes, opossum mingles with fox and breitschwanz; bouclé is doubled with astrakhan; sheared mink becomes light and soft like velvet; featherweight shearling is rendered even lighter and more magical through laser damask devoré. Brocade and Shetland wool come together in sumptuous, quilted duvets, which the natural ease of a grey T-shirt and jeans bring back to everyday reality – even when they are studded with crystals that sparkle like stars in the clear Patagonian sky.
