Look n. 74
- Collection: Prêt-à-porter
- Season: Primavera/Estate
- Year: 2001
- Subject: Donna
- Runway Look No.: 74
The micro-dress, which simulates a coral necklace, is completed with a pair of red jersey briefs.
The garment is made from two identical semicircle-cut panels of red crepe, joined laterally at the hips. The ends of the semicircle forming the front are pleated and sewn to a buckle that fastens behind the nape. The edges of the back panel are reduced by two tucks and joined to the front at the sides of the nape. Both the front and the back are completely covered with an applied embroidery in parallel stripes of simulated corals, alternating with bands of simulated agate beads that follow the semicircular line of the two panels. The bias-cut fabric and the weight of the embroidery produce the effect of a double necklace falling over the chest and the back with different depths of neckline.
At the front, seven free strands of simulated corals and agates fall down, applied beneath the armholes and at the hips.
